Waterjet Cutting

Please download Java(tm). Abrasive Waterjet cutting systems are incredibly efficient and precise. Waterjet cutting systems allow the cutting of metallic and non-metallic materials without heat. Waterjet cutting also produces exceptional edge quality and eliminates the need for secondary processing. With computer controlled cutting and multi-axis capabilities, waterjet cutting systems can produce complex cuts, shapes and contours with extreme precision every time.

Waterjet cutting

Shapes, pierces, slots in a single pass. Abrasivejet's narrow kerf and computer control provide unmatched precision for waterjet cutting small holes, narrow slots and closely spaced patterns impossible to cut with traditional tools. This 1" thick piece was cut in a single pass and required no secondary finishing.

Waterjet Cutting Advantages:

Table Gantry

Multi-head waterjet cutting of .375” thick stainless steel

  • Fast, economical machining of virtually all metallic and non metallic materials assures accuracy and quality while reducing costs
  • Omnidirectional - Shapes, contours and bevels are cut using full capability of robotic manipulation
  • Cuts without heat - unlike cutting with flame, plasma, laser or stamping which produces heat affected zones and fatigue zones - there is no thermal distortion or degradation of materials
  • Physical and chemical characteristics of materials cut are unaffected
  • Superb edges, even on laminates and composites, without delamination
  • Usually no additional machining or secondary finishing required

Turbine ring shows the power, precision and quality of our waterjet cutting system with multi-axis capabilities. Note edge quality. Conventional saws or laser cutting would have required finishing to remove burrs, machining marks or heat-affected zones.

Our state-of-the-art waterjet cutting control and positioning system results in fast, economical machining and a minimum of material wastage from sheets or plates. This stainless steel profile is an example of our fast, economical net-shape waterjet cutting capability.
